How long in advance do I need to order my cake?

Minimum lead time is 2 days for cupcakes and 3 days for larger cakes. The earlier you place your order, the more likely it is we will be able to cater for your event date.
What flavours do you do?

For our core flavours please see our cake page. In addition to these, we can develop most flavours to suit your tastes and your event. We can make free from gluten or free from dairy cakes, although it must be noted these cakes are made in a kitchen where gluten and dairy products are used.
How much are your cakes?

Cake prices vary depending on the flavours, size and complexity. Occasions and birthdays cakes start from £45. Wedding cakes: 2 tier - £175+ 3 tier - £265+ 4 tier - £325+ For a more accurate price for your cake please send us an enquiry and we will get back to you with a quote.
Do you deliver?

We are based in Auchenblae, Aberdeenshire, and deliver free of charge within the AB39 and AB30 postcode region on orders above £45, or you can collect your cake from us. We are more than happy to deliver further afield, but this will incur a charge. When providing a quote for a wedding, the delivery and setup costs will be included. However, we are more than happy for you to collect your wedding cake from Auchenblae.
What decorations can I have?

We endeavour to create custom cakes for our clients using various techniques and finishes. We do not copy the designs of other cake makers but can work closely with you to incorporate elements from photos you take inspiration from. We offer delicate sugar flowers, stencilling, metallic lustres and fondant cake topper models. If what you are looking for is not explicitly listed, get in contact with us as we may be able to design the cake you are requiring.
Can I have a personalised message on my cake?

We do offer various elements of text on our cake. Due to the size of cake, there may have to be a compromise on the length of the message to ensure it complements the design.
Do you provide plastic/card cake toppers?

We do not provide or make plastic/card cake toppers for your cake. If you wish to provide one, we can add it to your cake and incorporate it within the design.
How do I store my cake once collected/delivered?

For best enjoyment, consume your cake within 2 to 3 days. Store the cake in a cool, dry area out of direct sunlight. Please be aware that cakes left in warm climates have the possibility of melting or deforming. If collecting your cake, we suggest placing the cake in the boot of your car with nothing else to keep the cake flat and safe for travel. On collection or delivery, we will ensure the cake is as discussed and the design meets your expectations. Once the cake has been collected or delivered, Wild Thistle Cake Design do not take responsibility for any damage or warping to the cake.
